BIG/LITTLE PROGRAM

The Charles R. Drew Pre-health Society created a big/little program for members to learn and receive guidance from their peers. This will be a great way to get to know the other members in the society and interact with people who share similar interests and career goals. CRD will host events and social activities involving the big/little program that will allow the mentors and mentees to get well acquainted with each other. Members are matched based on career goals, interests, and hobbies.

GOAL

To provide a strong advising network for underclassmen students interested in Professional Health careers and to facilitate mentoring experiences with upperclassmen. Encourage, support, and retain undergraduates on the pre-health track by providing one-on-one peer mentorship.

BENEFITS

Mentees will gain incredible insight about course selection, choosing a major, research and clinical opportunities, MCAT preparation, and much more. The program also gives upperclassmen a valuable opportunity to share their practical wisdom on what it means to be pre-health at UMD and to serve as an integral pre-health resource for underclassman students.
